Business rules management system (BRMS ) is a software platform that offers the possibility to handle and operate an organization or an enterprise business rules. The heart of a BRMS is composed of a management module of the knowledge base and an inference engine. The contribution of BRMS to simple rules engine (formerly called expert systems) is include simulation, a repository of rules, APIs for advanced user interfaces and test tools. A BRMS allows managing the complete life cycle of business, creating a rule in its management and its maintenance rules

There is a separation between all knowledge representing expertise in the field and the operating mechanism of such knowledge. The "intelligent" core system pilot reasoning, explains the reasoning and maintains knowledge base. It is composed of three modules:

• Knowledge mechanism that ensures the reasoning: inference engine
• Explanatory system explains the reasoning adopted by the engine
• Knowledge acquisition module: to update the knowledge base

It contains the necessary domain expertise so that engine solves problem as an expert. In this base there are two types of knowledge: the facts and rules .

Following a strategy which depends on the nature of the engine, and regardless of the environment, the engine selects rules, interprets, set up to satisfy the conditions of stop.
